Marsha Lewis Hess

Marsha Lewis Hess, 59, lost her courageous battle with cancer on July 6, 2005 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Marsha was an administrative assistant with Medtech, Inc. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and was active in the Executive Women International. She loved to volunteer her time in all of her children's activities and enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She was an avid reader and loved to entertain.

She is survived by her two daughters, Julie Hess of Grand Rapids, MI, Suzanne Hess of West Des Moines; one brother, LaVerne Lewis of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister, Donna Cisco of Mount Pleasant; and her father, Ralph Lewis also of Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hess and her mother, Helen Lewis.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Vigil at 7 p.m. at her church, St. Francis of Assisi, and again on Saturday, July 9, 2005 from 9 to 11 a.m. with her funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 7075 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines, with cremation to follow. Service and burial of her cremains will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to Mount Notre Dame High School or to The American Cancer Society.
