Mary A. Brucker Mary A. Brucker entered her eternal life in October 30, 2005 at Kavanagh House on Grand from complications of pancreatic cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Mary was born in Tilden, NE and had lived in West Des Moines for the past 52 years. She retired from Des Moines Area Community College, where she was a teacher in the business college. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Therese Women's Circle, a volunteer at Fountain West, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Conference of St. Vincent De Paul. Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bridge, collecting cookbooks, entertaining family and friends and was a teacher throughout her life, always sharing ideas with others. She will be missed by her husband of 56 years, James; sons, Richard (Judy) Brucker of Urbandale, John Millbrook of Baltimore, MD, Jeff (Lisa) Brucker of Keller, TX and Gregory (Amy) Brucker of Galesburg, IL; daughter, Susan Snyder of Austin,TX; eleven grandchildren; brothers, Steven Grosserode of Lincoln, NE and James Grosserode of Phoenix, AZ; and her sister, Frances Petersen of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish Center, 1627 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church or Hospice of Central Iowa. |
