Lusia S. Halsey
Lusia was born on December 2, 1934 in Skole, Poland. She lived in West Des Moines since 1961, and worked for many years at Dahl's Foods, but most recently for Coco & Ermels. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of the St. Catherine's Womens Guild. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and traveling, but most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by her three sons, James Halsey, John Halsey and Timothy Halsey, all of West Des Moines; her brother, T.J. Szwarc of West Des Moines; her granddaughter, Jessica Foster of California; and the father of her children, John L. Halsey of Madrid, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stefan and Agnieszka Szwarc. Visitation will be today at the church from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to her church or to the House of Mercy. |
Lusia S. Halsey, 70, entered her eternal life on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 16, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Jordan Cemetery.
