Jerome Harold "Jerry" Snuttjer Jerome Harold "Jerry" Snuttjer, 69, of Clive, formerly of Dubuque, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Friday, April 29,2005, at home with the love and support of his family. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Lutheran Church of Hope, West Des Moines, with cremation immediately following. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Care, University Chapel, 7975 University Boulevard, in Clive, A special memorial service will be held in Dubuque later in the week at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He is a member of the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. Mr. Snuttjer was an insurance and financial services professional for 42 years. He retired as senior vice president of Dubuque Bank & Trust , where he helped to establish the insurance division. Prior to that, Jerry spent many years as the business partner of James and Evelyn Hadley at James Hadley Insurance, which he joined in 1970. Jerry enjoyed many friends and had a special gift for working with others. He was a member of the Dubuque Noon Optimist Club. Jerry enjoyed gardening, golf, cheering for the Iowa Hawkish, and trips to Chicago Bears football games. He served in the Navy from 1956-58 as a radio operator aboard PBM aircraft and was stationed in Japan. He was born on December 5, 1935, in Ellsworth, Minnesota, son of Onno Snuttjer and Anna Busse Snuttjer. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Lonnie. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Rollag Snuttjer; his daughters, Vicky Snuttjer (Steve) Mueller, and Peggy Snuttjer (Dave) Hudson, both of Dubuque; two sons, Michael (Susan) Snuttjer, and Paul Snuttjer, both of West Des Moines; five granddaughters, Avril Eberhart, Jessica [fiance of Brad Buelow], and Emily Mueller, both of Dubuque, Karla (fiance of Patrick Brennan) Riedl of Cedar Rapids, and Samantha Snuttjer of West Des Moines; two grandsons, Matthew Eberhart of Dubuque, and Kyle Snuttjer of West Des Moines; one great-granddaughter, Alice Buelow of Dubuque, and two great-grandsons, Aiden Buelow of Dubuque, and William Brennan of Cedar Rapids.
