Dr. J.W. Adams Dr. J.W. Adams, 84, died Friday, May 6, 2005 following heart surgery. Private family services are planned. Dr. Adams was born in Hundington, PA and has lived in Columbus, OH and Des Moines before moving to Ankeny in 1972. He was a pediatrician at the Wilden Clinic and was Chief of Pediatrics at Des Moines General from 1967 to 1981. He served in the US Army Air Corps as an Officer with the 812th Bombardment Squadron. He was also a member of the AMA and AOA. Dr. Adams was a pilot who enjoyed flying, raising dogs and loved helping and caring for children. Dr. Adams is survived by his wife, Joan Adams of Ankeny; two sons, Steven Adams of Des Moines and David Adams and his wife Laurie of Ankeny; one sister, Fay Snyder of Davidson, NC; and granddaughter, Jessica Adams of Clearwater, FL.
