George Parsons, 77, died at his home in Windsor Heights. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Windsor Heights Fire Department, 1133 66th Street, Windsor Heights, Iowa.

George was born in Boston, MA and lived in the Des Moines area more then 50 years. George was an engineer and arson investigator for the Windsor Heights Fire Department of which he retired in 2004. He was a veteran of the US Navy, member of the Toastmasters International, Lions Club and the Windsor Heights Firefighter's Association. George enjoyed golf, bowling, spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren and attending Windsor Heights City council meetings.

George will be missed by his children, Glenda (Michael) Gross of Windsor Heights, George (Chris) Parsons, II of San Mateo, CA, Gloria Parsons of Maui, Hawaii and Jason (Renee) Parsons of Urbandale; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Hilton of Brighton, MA; and many nieces nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann (Betsy) Parsons; parents, Ralph and Elizabeth May Parsons; and his grandson and wife, Nathan and Kimberly Gross.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Windsor Heights Firefighters Association. Family will greet friends following the service for a time of fellowship.
