Diana Lynne Green, 47, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at the West Des Moines First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.

Diana was born December 12, 1958 in Ogallala, Nebraska. She grew up on the family farm with her parents and brother, Travis. Diana graduated from Ogallala High School in 1977 and attended the University of Nebraska - Kearney, where she earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Business. She was a member and officer of the Alpha Phi Sorority. It was in college that Diana met her husband. Diana and Jim were married July 28, 1984 and have resided in the Des Moines area since that time. They have two sons, Justin, 20, of Iowa City and David, 18, at home.

Diana worked part time as an insurance claims examiner and devoted most of her love and energy upon her family. She especially loved working with children as she served in day care and as a Sunday school teacher. Diana was always able to interest and delight youngsters. She loved to travel with her family. Diana also greatly enjoyed boating and waterskiing. She was an avid reader of books. Diana also loved to spend time with her friends entertaining, sharing stories and humor. She was very grateful for the support of so many friends during her illness.

Diana will be greatly missed by her husband of 21 years, Jim Green; sons, David and Justin of rural Cumming; her mother, Marlene Brown of Ogallala, Nebraska; aunt, Arlene Westover of Ft. Worth, Texas; and two nieces, Mallory and Heide Brown of Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Brown; and brother, Travis Brown, both of Ogallala, Nebraska; grandparents, Paul and Elsie Walker and William F. and Margie Belle Brown.

Following services in West Des Moines, Diana will be at rest with her family in Ogallala. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers.
