Betty Caligiuri

Betty Colleen Caligiuri died at the age of 73 at her home May 3, 2005. She was born in Des Moines on May 26, 1931 where she remained a life long resident. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Care-Tonini Chapel.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her husband of 24 years, Sam; her five children, Sherry (Mike) Monscour of Ft. Myers FL, Denise Caligiuri, Paul (Su) Strome, Linda (Kevin) Hammer and Bob (Monica) Morgan, all of Des Moines; a stepson, Steve (Teresa) Caligiuri; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Darla (Jim) Donahue of Milo, IA; and a brother, Harold Snethen of Sumter, SC She was preceded in death by a stepson, Mark Caligiuri.

Betty co-founded Sambetti's with her husband in 1979 where she continued working and she enjoyed her customers daily. She loved sewing and making costumes for the many holidays. One of her greatest joys of life was being around people, she was loved and enjoyed by many in return.
