Sherry Dillman Sharon went to rest peacefully at her daughter's home in Laurel on November 4, 2004 surrounded by family. Sharon was born to Geneva and Robert Louks, March 1, 1936. Early on she became an influential sister to Bobette Garrington, then Penny Bamubach, Pam Bollhoefer, Gordie Louks and Linda "Twinkie" Harre. Sharon has three children surviving her, two sons Roni and Terry; and daughter Kelly French; grandchildren, Miranda Runner, Shawna Burns, Corey French, Amber Clark, Jeremy Burns, Chelsea Burns, and Chasity Vallejo; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ciera Runner, Sabrina and Chayton French, Madison Clark are all beautiful souls from Sharon's heart. She found her soul mate in Jerry Dillman, a fellow banker who loved her quietly. They lived peacefully in Russell, Iowa. Together they owned the Prairie Street Pub and they planted a forest of trees. Sharon worked 15 years at the Security Savings Bank. Sharon put many miles on her legs walking through the seed corn fields and calculating notes on her hands. She contracted detasseling and rogueing for DeKalb, Pioneer, Garst and Asgrow. She loved to work and be the boss, traveling to Missouri Valley, IA; Sikeston, MO; McAllan, TX; and throughout central Iowa. Sharon loved to educate herself and others about alternative medicine. She armed herself heavily with this education to fight her battle with cancer. Sharon touched everyone with her love of art and her ability to create art. she has left us with many paintings to remind us of her. At 68 years, she left this life to be with her heavenly family; daughter, Michelle; father, Robert Louks; grandparents and all those that love her as we do still. Family Visitation will be Sunday, November, 7 at the Laurel Methodist Church from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial services will be held Monday, November 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Laurel Methodist Church. Cremation Society of Iowa assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be left to the Laurel Girls Softball League or Iowa River Hospice. |
