Robert "Bob" B. Powell, 81, died Saturday, November 6, 2004 of cardiac arrest at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Bob was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on January 19, 1923. He moved to Iowa where he graduated from Marion High School. He went on to attend the University of Iowa and was a WWII veteran.

His life long occupation was as a third generation piano tuner. His business was Powell Piano Service in Des Moines.

He is survived by a son, Jim Powell of Maui, HI; a daughter, Melodee Pomerantz of Clive; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Powell.

At his request there will be no visitation or service. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Hospice of Central Iowa or a memorial of the donor's choice.
