Nancy Ritchie

Nancy C. Ritchie, 79, beloved wife, mother and gradmother, died September 23, 2004 after a long illness at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola with burial in IOOF Cemetery.

She was born Marshalltown and spent her youth in Chilicothe, MO before moving to West Des Moines and then to Indianola where she resided for the past 36 years. Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker, a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and an avid sportsperson, but enjoyed being her grandchildren's biggest fan at their sports activities.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Berkley Ritchie of Indianola; a son, Donald Ritchie of Milo; three daughters, Donna McDonald of Minneapolis, MN, Susan Johnson of Indianola, and Sharon Owens of Milo; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Cesar of Flagstaff, AZ and Ben Cesar of Bettendorf.

Visitation will be Monday at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
