Meredith DeGood
Meredith was born in Morning Sun, Iowa and had lived in Des Moines for the last 27 years. She was a former school teacher, the retired owner of The Baggage Car and a member of Windsor Presbyterian Church. As a noted expert on Hallmark Collectibles, Meredith was the author and publisher of "Price Guide to Hallmark Ornaments." She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hal DeGood; two daughters, Martha (David) Nelson of Novi, MI, and Nancy (Peter) Canning of Overland Park, KS; brothers, Paul McElhinney of Morning Sun and Robert McElhinney of Morrison, IL; and four grandchildren, Amanda and Stephen Nelson and Erin and Mallory Canning. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. Visitation is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, October 29 at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel in Clive. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross. |
