James Dew James M. Dew, 82, died November 1, 2004 of kidney failure at home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6 at Brooks Funeral Care-University Chapel. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. James lived his entire life in the Des Moines area. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was a bus driver with the MTA for 40 years. James was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, ATU Local #441 and the Masonic Home Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Mary K. "Sam" of West Des Moines; sons, Lyle (Robin) Dew of Altoona, Pat Dew of Quincy, MA, Bill Dew of Johnstown, CO, and Jimmy Dew of West Des Moines; twelve grandchildren; and brothers, Don of Des Moines and Bill of South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Margaret "Meg" Davis. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 5 at the funeral home. |
