Gail Marquart Gail Marquart, 86, died of a massive coronary at home on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. He is survived by daughters, Lannis Devine of Urbandale and Leah (Dick) Wallfred of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Holly Sennett of Burlington, WI, Darcy Smith and Dan Wallfred of Omaha, NE, and Tony Wallfred of Beale AFB, CA; eight great-grandchildren; and close friends, Tom and Jan Hanson of Des Moines. Gail proudly served with the Coast Guard in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1950 with a degree in Architectural Engineering. He achieved the highest degree in the Masons and was an active member in the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine. An accomplished musician, he was a charter member of the Sax Six. He was a master in woodworking. Gail was adored by is family and highly respected by his friends. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 11 at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines. After the service, a light luncheon will be served at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9127 located at 4029 Urbandale Ave. |
