Bonnie Keairnes

Bonnie Kathleen Keairnes passed from this life November 5, 2004. Bonnie was born on July 10, 1951 in Columbus, Nebraska to Dayle and Dolores Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska. Bonnie attended District 28 Elementary School in Platte Center, Nebraska, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. She attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska.

Bonnie married Mark Keairnes on August 18, 1976, and they enjoyed a marriage of 28 years. Bonnie and Mark have three children, Erik Keairnes, attending Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa; Drew Keairnes, attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Lincoln, Nebraksa; and Ryan Keairnes, a Junior at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Bonnie worked for TWA Airlines for 24 years, first in St. Louis, Missouri, then later in Omaha, Nebraska and Des Moines. Bonnie loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her sons' sports activities. Other things that brought her great joy were gardening, music, traveling and volunteering at Lutheran Church of Hope, where she was a member for ten years.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Keairnes; her sons, Erick, Drew and Ryan Keairnes; her mother, Dolores Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska; three sisters, Cynthia Hopp of Omaha, Nebraska, Carol Lackey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Janice Flemming of Castle Rock, Colorado; and three brothers, Steven Kallweit of Columbus, Nebraska, Keith Kallweit of Sausilito, California, and David Kallweit of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father, Dayle H. Kallweit of Platte Center, Nebraska.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 7 at Lutheran Church of Hope Chapel, 925 74th Street, West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 8 at the church. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
